Prawn and spinach curry

Ingredients

  • Prawns- 1/2 kg
  • Onions- 2 medium size finely chopped
  • Tomatoes- 2 medium size finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1.5 tsp
  • Green chilli- 1 slit
  • Any spinach- 1 cup chopped
  • Turmeric pwd – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli pwd -1 tsp
  • Coriander pwd- 2 tsp
  • Curry pwd- 2 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Water as required
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil – 4 to 5 tsp

To grind

  • Coconut – 1/2 cup
  • Pepper- 1/2 tsp

Method

  1. Grind coconut and pepper to a fine paste and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan . Add curry leaves, chopped onion and green chilli.Sauté for 3 minutes.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for few minutes.
  4. Then add the tomatoes. Sauté for 3 minutes and then add turmeric pwd, chilli pwd, coriander pwd and the curry pwd and mix well. Sauté the masala for few minutes.
  5. Add the ground paste and sauté for 2 minutes. Then add required water. Close and cook .
  6. Once the gravy starts to boil add the prawns and spinach. Add required salt. Mix well
  7. Simmer this for few more minutes until the oil floats on top.
  8. Serve
