Chicken Fry

Ingredients

For the marination

  • Chicken- 500 grams
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp

Grind to fine powder

  • Cloves- 3
  • Cinnamon- 1 inch piece
  • Cardamom- 1
  • Pepper- 1 tsp
  • Jeera- 1 tsp

For the masala

  • Onions-2 finely chopped
  • Tomatoes- 2 roughly chopped
  • Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 2 tsp
  • Oil- 5 tsp
  • Curry leaves for garnishing

Method

  1. In a pressure cooker add the marinated chicken, chopped tomatoes, ground powder and 1 cup water and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  2. Once the pressure is released remove the lid.
  3. Turn on the gas and on high flame let it cook for 5 minutes or until dry.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add the chopped onions and sauté until brown, add chilli powder, coriander powder and sauté for two minutes.
  5. Add the chicken and mix well.
  6. Add the curry leaves and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Turn off the gas and serve.
