
Ingredients
- Chana dal- 1/2 cup
- Onion- 1 big finely chopped
- Mint leaves – 1 tsp chopped
- Coriander leaves – 2 tsp chopped
- Curry leaves- 1 tsp chopped
- Oil to deep fry
- Salt as required
To grind
- Fennel Seeds / Saunf- 1 tsp
- Jeera- 1 tsp
- Red chillies- 2
- Garlic- 6 to 7 cloves
- Ginger- 1 inch piece
Method
- Soak Channa dal for 2 hours. Drain and keep aside.
- Grind together the ingredients listed under ‘to grind’ to a coarse paste. Then add the soaked Channa dal , salt and blend it coarsely.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the chopped onions, mint, coriander and curry leaves. Mix everything well .
- Take a small portion shape them as a ball and slightly flatten it.
- Heat oil and add the Vadas . Deep fry them till golden brown, turning over both sides. Serve hot
