Coconut Chutney

Ingredients

To Grind

  • Coconut- 1 cup ( remove the brown part and cut into small pieces )
  • Red chillies- 2
  • Roasted gram dal- 2 tsp
  • Salt as required

For The Tempering

  • Oil- 2 tsp
  • Mustard- 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig

Method

  1. In a blender add the coconut, red chillies, salt and roasted gram dal.
  2. Blend all the ingredients well.
  3. Add 4 tsp of water to get a smooth thick chutney.
  4. If you don’t like the chutney to be thick then add 1/4 cup of water while blending.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Add all the tempering ingredients and once it starts to splutter add the ground chutney. Mix for a minute in low flame.
  7. Turn off the gas.
