Soya Keema Kola Urundai/ Meal Maker Keema Balls

Ingredients

  • Soya chunks/ Meal maker- 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cups to boil the Soya
  • Green chilli- 1
  • Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds/ Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Poppy seeds- 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Garlic – 6 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Roasted gram dal- 2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tsp chopped
  • Onion – 1 medium size chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Boil the soya chunks in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Drain and wash it in cold water and Keep aside.
  2. Once cooled squeeze out the excess water from the the soya chunks.
  3. To a blender add the soya chunks, green chilli, ginger and garlic, pepper, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, roasted gram dal, chilli pwd, coriander pwd, garam masala pwd.
  4. Grind it coarsely or semi paste and place the mixture in a bowl.
  5. Add chopped onion , coriander leaves , required salt and mix well.
  6. Shape them into small balls.
  7. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry 4 balls at a time in medium flame and fry until brown .
