
Ingredients
- Bitter gourd- 1/4 kg
- Onions- 2
- Tomatoe -1
- Green chilli – 1
- Ginger garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1.5 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves
- Oil – 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Salt as required
Method
- Wash and cut the bitter gourd and discard the seeds.
- Add the bitter gourd in a pressure cooker.
- Add 1/4 tsp salt and a cup of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Heat oil in a pan , add mustard . Once splutters add the curry leaves .
- Then add chopped onions and green chilli. Sauté for few minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 3 minutes.
- Then add the chopped tomato and all the spice powders and sauté for 4-5 minutes.
- Now add the bitter gourd and pour 1/4 cup water. Add required salt .
- Sauté for 7 minutes and then add the ghee and mix well. Bitter gourd masala is ready .
