
Ingredients
For the marination
- Prawns – 500 grams
- Egg white- 1
- Pepper powder- 1 tsp
- Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp ( optional)
- Cornflour – 2 tsp
- All purpose flour/ Maida- 2 tsp
- Salt as required
- Oil for deep frying
For the sauce
- Onion -1 medium size
- Capsicum – 1/2 thinly sliced
- Garlic- 8 -10 cloves finely chopped
- Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli sauce – 2 tblsp
- Soya sauce – 1.5 tsp
- Vinegar – 1 tsp
- Cornflour- 1 tsp mixed in 5 tsp of water
- Oil – 2 tblsp
- Spring onion chopped for garnishing
- Salt as required
Method
- Clean and wash the prawns well.
- In a bowl add the prawns and all the ingredients for the marination and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the marinated prawns for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Now for the sauce, take another pan heat 2 tblsp oil, add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped onions , capsicum and green chilli and sauté on high flame for 2 minutes.
- Reduce the flame and add chilli sauce, soya sauce, pepper powder and vinegar and stir well. Add 2 tblsp of water as well and sauté on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add salt as required.
- Add the cornflour mixed with water and sauté for a minute.
- Now add the deep fried prawns and stir well on high flame for 1 minute.
- Turn off the flame and garnish with spring onion.
