
Ingredients
- Basmati rice- 2 cups or 500 grams
- Onions -3 chopped
- Tomatoes – 2 medium sized chopped
- Green chillies- 3 slit
- Ginger garlic paste- 2.5 tsp
- Carrot – 1
- Beans- 1/4 cup chopped
- Peas 1/4 cup
- Pepper powder- 1 to 1.5 tsp
- Water- 3 cups (for 1 cup rice add 1.5 cups of water water )
- Cinnamon- 2 inch
- Cloves- 4
- Cardamoms- 3
- Oil- 5 tbsp
Method
- Wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
- In a pressure cooker heat oil, add the whole spices(Cinnamon , cloves, cardamoms) and sauté for 20 – 30 seconds.
- Add chopped onions, green chillies and sauté until the onions turn light brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped vegetables,salt, pepper powder and stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Now add the rice and mix well for a minute.
- Add 3 cups of water and mix well.
- Close the cooker and cook on medium flame for 2 whistles. Turn off gas and remove the cooker and keep aside.
- Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mix gently. Serve
