
Ingredients
- Yam- 1 cup and chopped
- Drumsticks – 2
- Onions-2 roughly chopped
- Tomatoes -3 roughly chopped
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Green chilli- 1 slit
- Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder- 1.5 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2.5 tsp
- Garam masala – 1 tsp
- Oil- 5 tsp
- Water- 3 cups or as required
- Salt as required
Grind to paste
- Coconut- 1/3 cup ( remove the brown part and cut into small pieces )
- Red chilli- 1
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add curry leaves,chopped onions and green chilli. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, chilli powder,coriander powder and garam masala and mix well.
- After 3 minutes add the chopped yam and stir well with the masala.
- Sauté for 3 minutes.
- Add salt and the ground coconut paste.
- Add water and mix well.
- Close the cooker and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
- Wait for 5 minutes, open the cooker and add the chopped drumstick.
- If the gravy is too thick add 1/2 cup water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
- Wait until pressure releases. Serve
