Potato Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

For the potato masala

  • Boiled Potato – 4
  • Onions- 2 finely chopped
  • Tomato- 1 finely chopped
  • Garlic- 5 cloves chopped finely
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Mustard – 1 tsp
  • Oil- 4 tsp

Method

  1. Wash the potatoes and put them into a pressure cooker. Add 2 cups water and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  2. Once the pressure is released remove the potatoes and mash them.
  3. In a pan add oil, once the oil is hot add mustard.
  4. Once the mustard starts to crackle add the chopped onions, garlic and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and required salt and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and mix well.
  7. After a minute add the mashed potato and mix well to combine.
  8. Let the masala cook for 3 to 4 minutes on low flame.
  9. Turn off gas.
Potato Masala

For the sandwich

  • Bread slices
  • Butter as required
  • Cheese slices

Method

  1. Apply butter on the bread slices.
  2. Heat a pan and add the bread slices.
  3. Spread the potato masala on one bread and place one slice cheese.
  4. Put the other slice on top.
  5. Toast on both sides for few seconds on low flame. Serve
